Tony Hertz’s beyond-all-reason passion for all things audio, especially radio, has now spanned 35 years, 6 continents, and careers as agency International Creative Director, Proprietor of his own Radio Creative/Production companies and world-travelling teacher/coach.
 
His first advertising job, whileat George Washington University,  was as a messenger at a local agency in Washington DC Not long thereafter, the world lost a prospective half-hearted doctor and gained a radio-obsessed copywriter. His last agency tour was 14 years as a McCann-Erickson Creative Director in Tokyo, Brussels and Birmingham, winning radio (and other) awards in all 3 places.
 
Pre-and post-McCann, Tony’s two London-based radio specialist companies,  The Radio Operators and Hertz:Radio, amassed shelves (strong) of oddly-shaped objects including  22Clios,  and multiple Gold and Silver ILR Awards, London International & New York Festival statues.  He remains the only UK creative to have won both D&AD Yellow and Black Pencils for Radio.
 
When he’s not in the studio, Tony travels with his highly-acclaimed lecture/workshops, Creating the Sounds of Success, Radio For Art Directors,©and The 7 Secrets of Creative Radio©which have now travelled to 30 countries, most recently The Philippines and Ghana. He’s been on the Cannes Radio Jury twice, and this year will serve on the D&AD Radio panel and as Chairman of the Clio Awards Radio Jury Tony Hertz is Anglo/American and speaks both languages fluently, plus a couple of others.
